TYPES OF EDUCATION SYSTEM

There are three types of education systems that exist today, the Traditional education, the Industrial age education, and the Information age education.

1.TRADITIONAL EDUCATION SYSTEM

The traditional education system have existed for thousand years focuses on basic knowledge of an agriculture society where “rote memorization” is important and success is based on passing examinations. After graduated, most students will work as administrations for government (In the old day: The emperor). This system is now considered obsolete by most educators.

2.INDUSTRIAL EDUCATION SYSTEM

The Industry age education system have existed for about three hundreds years focuses on meeting the needs of the industry where students learn “Mass production processes” to produce certain manufactured products. In this system, students learned everything they needed to know in school, and education usually ended at graduation. Success is based on getting jobs in the manufacturing industry. This system is becoming obsolete as it no longer equates to success in today business. 

3.INFORMATION AGE EDUCATION

The Information age education system is relatively new focuses mostly on technical knowledge and the application of technology to solve business problems. Students learn the fundamental in schools however education do not end there but continue throughout their life as technology always changes. Success is based on the knowledge and skills that individual obtain in actual working life and adjust to every situation that he or she meets. In this system, innovation and individual creativity are highly valued.

Students who are educated by the Traditional education do NOT feel comfortable with the Industrial age education system because the academia’s view and industry‘s view differs greatly. Students graduated with good grades by “memorization” and passing exams may NOT be able to apply what they learned into industry system and may NOT be successful in their jobs. This situation has happened in many countries that still follow the traditional education system. Students educated by the Industrial-age education system and then work in information technology system will have to adjust by additional trainings. There is a huge gap exists between the industrial age education and what people need to know to stay competitive in the information age, and that gap is widening. WHY IS EDUCATION IMPORTANT?

• Education Gives Knowledge

A direct effect of education is knowledge gain. Education gives us knowledge of the world around. It develops in us a perspective of looking at life. It helps us form opinions and develop a point of view. The information we are constantly bombarded with, cannot be converted into knowledge without the catalyst called education. It makes us capable of interpreting things rightly and applying the gathered information in real life scenarios. It is not limited to lessons from textbooks. Real education is obtained from the lessons taught by life.

The words 'cultivate' and 'civilize' are synonymous with 'educate'. That says it all. Education is important as it teaches us the right behavior and good manners, thus making us civilized. It is the basis of culture and civilization. It is instrumental in the development of our values and virtues. Education cultivates us into mature individuals; individuals capable of planning for the future, and taking the right decisions in life. It gives us an insight into living, and teaches us to learn from experience. It makes us self-confident, and develops our abilities to think, analyze, and judge. It fosters principles of equality and socialism. It forms a support system for one to excel in life. It is the backbone of society. It won't be wrong to say that good education makes us more human.

Your educational degree is considered as a proof of your knowledge by many. If you are educated you have more chances of being heard and taken seriously. Generally, an uneducated man will find it harder to express his views and opinions owning to lack of confidence. Even if he does so, people may not take him seriously. Education gives you the confidence to express your views and opinions.

• Education Leads to Career Progression

Education is important because it equips us with the expertise that is needed in helping us realize our career goals. Expertise is an in-depth knowledge about a specific field and it's ought to open doors to brilliant career opportunities. Education fetches better prospects of career growth. Good education is an eligibility criterion for employment in any sector of the industry. Be it any field, education always proves to be rewarding. We are weighed in the market on the basis of our educational skills and on how well we can apply them.

• Education helps to understand the world we live in

Education   is what you need if you want an answer to your ‘whats’ and ‘hows’ and ‘wheres’. It helps you understand the world you live in. You get to know more about your surroundings as well as the whole world through subjects like history, geography, science etc.

Though not enlisted as one of the three basic human needs, education is equally important. For the progress of a nation, for the enrichment of society in general, education is important. A country's literate population is its asset. In today's competitive world, it won't be wise to neglect the importance of education for the development of society as a whole. The motive behind this is fostering education in society. The future of a nation is safe in the hands of the educated. Education is important for the social development and economic growth of a nation.

Superstitions are baseless, useless and may affect your life negatively. Illiterate and uneducated people often tend to hold certain superstitious beliefs.  Education and awareness are the best ways to combat superstitions and replace such beliefs with reason and logic.

WHAT IS EDUCATION?

                                 

EDUCATION is the wealth of knowledge acquired by an individual after studying particular subject matters or experiencing life lessons that provide an understanding of something. Education requires instruction of some sort from an individual or composed literature. The most common forms of education result from years of schooling that incorporates studies of a variety of subjects.

Education frequently takes place under the guidance of educators, but learners may also educate themselves in a process called autodidactic learning. Any experience that has a formative effect on the way one thinks, feels, or acts may be considered educational.

Education is commonly and formally divided into stages such as preschool, primary school, secondary school and then college, university or apprenticeship. The methodology of teaching is called pedagogy.

• Formal Schooling

Most people associate education with schools and classrooms where trained teachers present information to students. Classroom learning generally starts when a child is relatively young — around age five in most countries — and continues until the teenage years. The purpose of most classroom learning is not to prepare a child for a specific job, but rather to help him or her develop critical reasoning and thinking skills. Reading, writing, and math are very common lessons for young learners. As students progress in their schooling, they often come into contact with more challenging subjects like written composition, history, and advanced sciences.

• Educational Structures Around the World

Different countries place different emphases on education, though some form of schooling is mandatory for young children almost everywhere. Requirements are usually based on the belief that an educated population is best suited for advancement, both internally and internationally. In most places, childhood schooling is offered free of charge; university training is also underwritten with government funds in some places.

• Life Experiences and Informal Learning

While book learning is very important, it is not the only form of education. Some individuals are self-taught, which means that they pursue knowledge on their own outside of a formal classroom. Many of these people may have read extensively or may have become experts within a given field. Bill Gates, founder of Microsoft, for example, was a college dropout. Most of what he learned he taught himself.

A range of “life skills” — things like self sufficiency, independence, and discipline — also frequently come within the broader umbrella of education. Cultural adaptation and the skills needed to engage in society can also be thought of as educational.
